Governance of MD202

Council Chair Megan England

"Having served as District Governor for District 202D I am honoured to have been elected to lead the Council of Governors for the 2022-23 year.

I belong to the Eltham Lions Club where I have been a member for just over 17 years.

We all have our own reason for joining a Lions Club. My story? I joined because I was asked. I stay because I like giving back to my community. I like being a Lion. I like what the Lions organisation stands for. I like being part of a worldwide organisation with people who help to make the world a better place and because of the powerful sense of self worth I get from being part of something much bigger than myself.

Helping others, giving back, the service is what drives me to continue to serve as a Lion.
In the words of Immediate Past International President Douglas Alexander, “Because in times of great need, only a greater passion for service can make the world a better place for all people.”

I look forward to a year of service as your Council Chair.
He waka eke noa – We’re all in this together."
