If New Zealand is a new country for you and your family, joining a Lions Club is an excellent way to get to know your new community and understand the Kiwi way of life. In general Lions are ordinary, hard-working New Zealanders who like to get together regularly for fellowship and spent part of their spare time working on community projects. Lions is a very family oriented organisation that is always inclusive of partners and members of the extended family. In some areas people from the same ethnic backgrounds have got together and formed their own clubs. The Pacific Islands also form part of the New Zealand multiple district. Polynesian members can take part in projects that may benefit their families back in their homeland islands.
