In virtually every New Zealand village, town or city you will find the Lions logo on the fence at a children’s play area, on the back of a seat by the seaside for contemplative thinking, along a bush walkway that’s been cleared of invasive weeds, or attached to a sophisticated piece of high technology medical equipment that’s saving lives.
In homes you will find a collection of tear top tabs, wine bottle screw tops or an envelope reminding you to dig out old currency and foreign exchange coins. Behind each item there is a story that has started with a need and a Lion who was willing to listen. Other Lions would hear about the situation and agree to pick up an idea or a concept and turn it into a reality.
These are the projects that are the reason Lions Clubs exist.
