Where does one start in explaining what it is like to be involved in forming a new club

Monday 30th November -0001

Saturday night 23rd May saw the charter being presented to the Lions Club of Tamahere, a group of very enthusiastic people looking to make a difference in their community. President Sue McCowan accepted the charter document from International Director Eric Carter on a fun filled night that saw our District Governor having a bit of a sleep thru the entertainment segment of the night, perhaps one should say that a hypnotist was in the house and was showing off his skills. DG Paula you certainly opened a few eyes even though yours weren't.

Tamahere has been chartered with 31 members and last night we also welcomed Karin and Susan to the club and they were inducted by International Director Eric Carter, club membership 33.

I can't explain the feelings that comes with the formation of a new club but what I can say is it is amazing to witness the hopes and aspirations of a group of new members. Special thanks to President Sue and her 32 fellow Lions, GMT Leader Margaret Brasting, fellow Guiding Lion Fred Hansen, PDG Richard Norris, DG Paula McWha, ID Eric Carter and all those that turned out on Saturday night to celebrate the club charter, in parting I reinforce President Sue's summing up, WE SERVE.
