Monday 30th November -0001

Lions Club of Dunedin (Host) President John McMorran with the General Manager of the Otago Golf Club, Evan Robb, and the new defibrillator the golf club purchased with funds donated by the Lions club to recognise their 50th anniversary.

Dunedin Host is the second oldest club in the South Island, being chartered in October 1961. Mr Robb said that all golf club personnel are familiar with the machine and people living in the area have been informed that there is now a defibrillator in the area and can be used in an emergency.

The machine will be named in memory of the late Ken Sparrow who was a long-time member of the Otago Golf Club and of the Lions Club.
