Another successful fair with an excellent turnout of stallholders and families. The weather was slightly overcast but perfect for the participants and the Lions volunteers who provided support services.Over $6,000 wasraised for the Wellington Free Ambulance.
Although the day started overcast, the sun broke through in the afternoon and it became a warm still day at Battle Hill. Close to 3,000 people attended, slightly less than previous year, partly due to the competing events of the Rugby Sevens and racing. The food on sale was very popular with many families bringing a blanket and enjoying a picnic in the Dell to sounds of a great band, Rough Copy. With Battle Hill having its own camping ground, many campers enjoyed the fair and took the opportunity to enjoy some real food.
There were more than 70 stalls selling a wide variety of craft and food and we had 25 new stallholders presen,t many of whom are keen to come back next year. One stall holder, The Bubble Man, proved extremely popular and sold out of their product by 1.00pm.
Next year's fair will be held on Saturday 28th January and we look forward to seeing everyone there supporting a worthy cause.
