Clyde's new club opens its doors for all

Monday 30th November -0001

The first mixed-gender club in Central Otago is about to open in Clyde. The new club will be the third in the Clyde-Alexandra area, along with Alexandra Lions Club (all-male) and Alexandra-Dunstan (all-female).

Spokeswoman Debbie Blee, of Alexandra, said about 20 people were interested in joining the club. Its first meeting is planned for June 9. The club will suit people who wanted to do things for the community, raising funds for charities and socialising, she said.

Also joining her from the Alexandra-Dunstan Lions is Sue Fleury, who will take up the role of president of the new club.
