Child Mobility to benefit from bears and dolls

Monday 30th November -0001

Lions Clubs New Zealand Child Mobility Foundation is to be the recipient, along with Breast Cancer Research, of proceeds from this year’s National Bear and Doll Show.

To be held July 20-21 at the Horticultural Centre, Riccarton Ave, the show is being run by The Christchurch Doll Club, which has run the National Bear and Doll Show in Christchurch for the last six years and is known for its happy atmosphere.

There will be a Bear and Doll competition, a display of bears and dolls, free mask making and book mark making for children, raffles, a café, and sales tables including: bears - original and manufactured; dolls of all types, and related products; doll repairs; fabric and fibre handcrafts; textile art supplies; cards, as well as handmade fudges and old-fashioned sweets.

Stall holders are coming from Auckland to Invercargill and once again, organisers hope to inject some “warm fuzzies” into Canterbury.

The theme for this year is “Fashion on the Runway”.
