Woodville’s Racecourse is gearing up for big change in the world of pre-loved fashion, as it braces for an up-close and really personal brush of the Lion kind. The cutting room floor is starting to show signs of stress, as Tararua and District Lions 'ramp up' one of their many back-stage activities, sorting, catalogueing and preparing all the awesome stock they have been gifted to help make this, their first-ever Frock Swap event, one visitors will not only enjoy, but also use to brighten lives as well.

As a result of hugely-appreciated support from local media, including The Bush Telegraph, Dannevirke News, i-Site activity and our very own unique and valuable local airwave warriors at Radio Woodville, early indications point to a very popular event.

Already a great selection of both new and pre=loved fashion and accessories has been donated, and our team are working to have this stock ready for what promises to be a top opportunity to get some quality fashion (and perhaps some really valuable life skills advice also) from our absolutely fabulous Jo Guy; yes the lady of the very popular "Make Lemonade" blog, as she comperes a parade and presents some really good fashion advice, as our speial guest 'Fashionista'.

Frock Swap committee members (from left: Sharon Jones, Stephanis Bonser, Vicky Wolland and Colleen Clark) seen during one of the many 'back-room sessions needed to ensure the Frock Swap becomes a great event.

This being the biggest venture Tararua and Districts Lions have embarked upon, in their 25 years of service to the region’s communities, means the heat is truly on!

And it's so on, in many ways; small things like aranging to be able to offer on-site eft-pos services to patrons meant, for the first time, having to arrange our own merchant number. Ensuring high-quality compliance with food handling regulations and numerous other details has also seen new and unexpected skills being passed to a great team of Lions.

Vendor stalls and complimentary afternoon teas will all work together to make a great atmosphere to our Woodville Racecourse venue. On another note, our guest m/c, Tararua District Councillor Shirley Hull will certainly deliver a lively and enjoyable ‘not-too-haute couture’ village experience; one to be enjoyed by all.

We do want you to have a really great time and, to help acheive this aim, have set an entry limit, so only children aged 16 years and will be welcomed in. Some seats are still available, through Eventfinda, or our local i-Sites, and donated quality fashion clothing or accessory items will be welcomed. Contact Stephanie on 376 4073, Vicky on 376 7855, Colleen on 376 5665, or Sharon on 0274218649, to arrange collection.

The challenge is set. For a fun ladies day out, on Saturday 20 February, the sure bet would have to be on Tararua and Districts Lions' 2016 Frock Swap!
