Heads Up for Kids, the Lions Clubs New Zealand project to gather up old currency and foreign coins, has moved into Kaikoura, with a collection box now placed in the local New World supermarket.
Seaward Kaikoura Lion Julie Syme is right behind the project, which enables the now-useless currency to be cashed in and the proceeds used to provide outdoor education experiences for good kids who might otherwise not be able to afford such life-changing experiences.
