Plentiful Christmas cheer in Temuka

Tuesday 13th December 2011

Temuka Lions have again held their Annual Community Dinner at Saint Joseph's Hall in Temuka. 113 guests were treated to Christmas dinner with entertainment provided. Special guests were District Governor Robert Naismith and wife Beryl, Vice District Governor John Knowles and wife Val and Zone Chairman Neville Robertson and wife Judy.

Lions, their wives and partners cooked and served a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, while guests were entertained by Alan and Karyl Minear who belted out some good old tunes from the fifties and sixties.

The Temuka Pipe Band dropped in and played a few tunes , which were well received by the guests. And what Christmas party would not be complete without a visit from Santa? He did not disappoint, individually greeting most of the guests as he made his way around the hall. Temuka District Lions provided some homemade Christmas baking and Temuka Pakeke Lions ended the day with a selection of Christmas Carols.
