How Lions Help

People who live in the community know their community’s needs and because Lions Clubs are autonomous, decisions about community projects are made at the community’s grass roots. Lions’ projects tend to be very hands on and they actively work alongside organisations that they support. They are also significant fund raisers and are very proud that every dollar they raise from the public goes to the cause. They cover the hard costs of items needed for their project, where these are not donated but have to be bought and paid for. But they do not take a percentage of the money for their own purposes. This makes them distinctly different from professional charity fundraisers. Photo: Kerikeri Kindergarten gets a beautiful new playhouse, thanks to Kerikeri Lions and David Reid Homes. |
