Lions provide disaster relief

When the devastating Christchurch earthquake struck on February 22 Lions were immediately mobilised. Lions Clubs International Foundation chairman Eberhard Wirfs flew in from Germany to launch a global appeal to 1.35 million Lions in over 200 countries raising almost $1 million, while local Lions swung into action with food, water, portable toilets and cash to help out fellow Cantabrians.
