Membership Strength is critical to the overall success of Lions in New Zealand. Strong membership is vital if we are to continue to fulfill our mission of “WE SERVE”.

The MD 202 Global Membership Team will provide vision, guidance and motivation and support in all aspects of membership growth, club expansion, retention of current members, and programmes aimed at strengthening our organisation.

The MD 202 GMT team is structured so as to give maximum assistance to each District who have appointed a District GMT Leader for a 3 year period. These District Leaders report firstly to their respective District Governor Team and then to the MD 202 Global Membership Leader Ian (Chalky) White.

The Global Membership and Global Leadership Teams will work closely together to provide services such as;

• Proven, and simple programmes for membership growth.
• Development of programmes for retention of current members.
• Identification of areas for new club development.
• Assistance for clubs experiencing a critical membership challenge.
• Advise on club management.
• Membership Goal Setting.
• Establishment of long term strategic planning aimed at attracting a wider representation of our communities.
• Assistance to District Leadership Teams with hands on promotion of membership growth at Zone Meetings, Training days, Cabinet Meetings, Conferences etc.

The first contact for clubs who require information on membership initiatives such as the very successful “Club Growth” programme, or who require hands on assistance, is their District Global Membership Leader.
