How you can help

There are a number of ways you can support your Trust -  by personal donation, through club donation, by obtaining benefactor support or by remembrance donations to honour former club members, now deceased.

CATEGORIES OF RECOGNITION

CLUB

This is available to all Lions, Lioness and Leo Clubs. An attractive  140 mm purple and gold embroidered Club Member Patch is available to all clubs who become Trust Club Members for the first time. The club member joining fee is $10 per member. Let visitors to your club see the continued support you give  to your Lions Clubs Trust by displaying your Club Member Patch and Year Tabs. If your club has any year tab missing then by donating an extra  $10 per member in any year you can gain a previous year’s tab.

LIFE

This is the highest honour and is available to all Lions,  Lionesses, Leos, members of their families, and at the discretion of the Trustees, such other persons whose contribution to Lions deserves special recognition. Recipients of this prestigious honour receive a gold framed  certificate and a distinctive Lions red lapel badge.

Minimum donation NZ$600.

HONOURED

Honoured recognition is available for award to Lions,  Lioness, Leos, and to other members of the community, to recognise outstanding service to the Lions organisation or the community at large. Recipients receive a gold framed certificate and a distinctive blue Lions lapel badge.

Minimum donation NZ$300.

BENEFACTOR

Benefactor recognition is available for presentation to any organisation or individual whom clubs feel have supported their club, Lions, or their community; or to any organisations or individuals wanting to support the principles, ideals and objectives of our Lions Clubs Trust. A gold framed certificate is issued. Minimum donation for commercial organisations NZ$600 or individuals NZ$300.

OTHER CATEGORIES

FRIEND OF THE TRUST

Available to anyone who wishes to show their belief in the value of the Trust. A lapel pin (as for Life or Honoured member but in white) is provided. This category can be used as a stepping stone to higher categories which are recognised as soon as the minimum required donation is reached.

Minimum donation is NZ$100 with increments of $50 minimum.

HONOUR ROLL

The roll perpetuates the memory of those Lions, Lionesses and Leos who have passed away and who gave so much of themselves to their club and to the happiness of others. An appropriate framed certificate is issued if requested. Donations for entry to the Honour Roll are left to the clubs discretion, but should be of an amount that will reflect the deceased members’ value and contribution to his/her club. The Honour Roll is displayed at Multiple District Conventions and shown electronically at District Conventions.

A FORM OF BEQUEST BY WILL

I give the sum of $ to the Lloyd Morgan Lions Clubs Charitable Trust for the general charitable purposes of the Trust (or for a particular specified purpose) and I declare that the receipt of the Secretary or Treasurer of the Trust shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my Trustee.

BEREAVEMENT NOTICE

In lieu of a floral tribute a donation to the Lloyd Morgan Lions Clubs Charitable Trust, PO Box 1335, Palmerston North, or left in the foyer, would be appreciated.

TAX

Individuals can claim a tax credit (formerly a rebate) of 1/3rd of qualifying cash donations they make to LMLCCT, up to the level of their taxable income. Companies can claim a deduction for cash donations they make to LMLCCT, up to the level of their net income (previously the maximum a company could deduct was 5% of its net income). Note: If you are claiming a donation tax credit you must h

ave a receipt from the Trust Treasurer.
