The Lions Club of Tuakau was chartered with 25 members in 1978.               The Charter President was Jim Crichton who was the local Policeman.

                       WHO AND WHERE ARE LIONS

Lions Clubs are ordinary people of mixed gender and are within an excess of 290 countries, 46,000 clubs and 1.45 million members in every corner of the globe, no matter where you go, there’s probably a Lions club nearby.

                            MEMBERSHIP CATAGORIES

For prospective active members and also prospective members who may not be able to meet the obligations of an active membership.   Lions Clubs offer several membership categories to fit your needs.

Active Member

Active membership is the “typical” category of Lions membership.  Active members receive all benefits and endeavour to meet all requirements of Lions membership.

Affiliate Member

An affiliate member is someone who is not  able to participate as an active member of the club but desires to support the club and it’s community service initiatives and not be involved in administration.

Associate Member

An associate member has an active membership in one Lions club and associate membership in a second club in their community or residence of employment.

Family Member

The Family Membership Program provides families with the opportunity to receive a special dues discount when they join the same Lions club together. The first family member (head of household) pays full dues and up to four additional family members pay only half the dues
