$8,000 was raised for Starship Foundation as a Centennial Legacy 2 project to celebrate 100 years of Lionism worldwide. A Karaoke and Dinner Fundraiser on 4th March 2017 resulted in 8 Maxtec Oxygen Analysers being funded by Auckland Chinese Lions. We had an afternoon of karaoke and Chinese Opera singing before the official dinner in the evening which was attended by District Governor Elect Frank King-Turner and his wife Lesley, District Treasurer Lianne Sloan, CMF Co-ordinator Anne Gillanders, PDG Roger Robinson, Jonas George (Air Vanuatu), former Auckland Chinese Lions Presidents, family and guests.

We thank Air Vanuatu and Ramada Resort for providing the auction prize of a return trip to Vanuatu for two and four nights accommodation. We also thank New World Mt Roskill for providing some baskets of goodies for raffle prizes.

President May and District Treasurer Lianne presented the funds to Starship Foundation Chief Executive Brad Clark and Community Fundraising Executive Krissy Garnham on Thursday 9th March. They were delighted with the funds and said this would spearhead their campaign to fund 44 oxygen analysers in the next few months.
